THE WORLD’S FIRST
TONE MATCH DISTORTION PEDAL

BIAS Distortion is a distortion/overdrive pedal that will give you the best analog sounding distortion tone with cutting edge technology. It allows you to virtually design your own distortion pedal in ways never before possible via BIAS Pedal mobile and desktop app, share and download distortion pedals from ToneCloud, plus Tone Match any real world distortion pedals.

TONE MATCH

Now you can easily match your favorite distortion, overdrive, fuzz, and boost pedals’ tone. BIAS Distortion integrates with BIAS Pedal’s Tone Match technology – it analyzes and compares your currently selected pedal and the sound of a target tube pedal. It then executes the tonal compensation and enhancements needed to make your pedal’s sound accurately match that of the target pedal.

CUSTOM DESIGN

For the first time ever, you can easily design and modify your custom distortion pedal at the most detailed level – from the input volume, to the distortion stages and gain control, to pre and post EQ and much, much more. You can even change the pedal’s virtual guts as you would do with a real distortion pedal: modify your boost pedal’s germanium transistor or tweak your fuzz pedal’s silicon transistor.

PREMIUM COMPONENTS

BIAS Distortion Pedal uses only the finest quality components available. The road-ready metal foot switch, the circuit board, and each knob used are all top of the line. Enrich your pedal tone with the absolute best sound quality analog and digital has to offer.

TONE MATCH ANY DISTORTION PEDAL

BIAS Distortion comes with BIAS Pedal software and you can dive into your dream tone instantly by matching your favorite distortion, overdrive, fuzz, and boost pedals.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Technically, there is nothing that stops you from doing it. You may want to experiment with it, but the sound is going to be nowhere near the source. For authentic sound-modeling, you should use BIAS Distortion to match your Distortion, Overdrive or Fuzz pedals only.
Yes, each BIAS Distortion comes with a free license of BIAS Pedal desktop software (MRP$99).
Yes, by the time we ship BIAS Distortion, BIAS Pedal will be Tonecloud-ready i.e you have the access to the platform to share your tones with the world.
Any distortion pedal wouldn’t sound right with studio monitors nor were they designed for that either. We highly suggest connecting with a guitar amp instead of studio monitors.
We’re still refining the presets, but here’s the temporary pedal list for your information: Boss DS1, BK Butler Tube Driver, Fulltone OCD, Roger Mayer Voodoo1, Boss Metal Zone, EHX Big Muff, ProCo Rat, Ibanez TS9, Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive, Boss DS2 Turbo, Fulltone Fulldrive, Voodoo Lab Super Fuzz, Roger Mayer Spitfire, MXR Fuzzface*
Yes, BIAS Distortion works with bass too.
No, BIAS Distortion is NOT an audio interface. Its USB connector doesn’t transmit audio.
Again, you should use BIAS Distortion to match your Distortion, Overdrive or Fuzz pedals only.
Sorry, our pre-production sample might be misleading. It’s mono and it comes with 1 audio input and 1 audio output.
Yes, 100% plug and play right out of the box. But not only that, BIAS Pedal software allows you to further model your favorite pedals at component level and manage your presets with your PC/Mac.
It’s all digital, but we make it as close as possible to analog behavior. Moreover, it comes with three different boost modes and you can place the boost before or after the distortion stage.
With external MIDI device you can control every knob within each preset. With a regular expression pedal, you can control the parameters dynamically too. And yes, both CC and PC.
Not quite the same. Our BLEND is controlling the mix of output stage (tone shaping stage), not the mix of wet and dry signals.
The default presets are the recreations of some certain pedals and some of our originals.
Yes, you can sync to BIAS Pedal on your iPAD to manage your presets too.
No, if you want to sync your pedal to the app on your iPAD, only later models with BLE (Bluetooth 4.0) can do it.
Sure, we’ll be working with many more artists to expand our pedal collection.
Of course not. BIAS Distortion is very stable for any live situation. It won’t overheat or crash during playing.
It comes with almost any kind of distortion you can think of, tube, germanium, silicon, JFET, MOSFET and etc.
The battery factor is like the wattage in guitar amplifiers that affects the headroom of your signal. We use our DSP to simulate the effects in our BIAS Distortion.
BIAS Distortion Pro pedal doesn’t exist. We used an older prototype for our demo video that included “pro” in the name. However, the only existing pedal is BIAS Distortion.
Unfortunately, no.
As of now, the estimated time for shipping is end of December. Please make sure to follow us on Facebook to get the latest updates.
