Experience tone that feels alive.
BIAS X delivers guitar tone with realism, responsiveness, and inspiration. It feels like you're playing through a dialed-in tube amp in a pro studio—because our AI-powered engine doesn't just simulate tone, it reacts to your playing like the real thing.
Amplifiers
ADVANCED AI-POWERED MODELING
BIAS X uses advanced multi-point Agentic DSP to replicate the touch sensitivity and dynamic behavior of real tube amplifiers. With 33 models, each amp responds to your playing—cleaning up when you play softly and saturating with harmonics when you dig in.
You’ll feel it.
From shimmering cleans to high-gain punch: notes bloom naturally, chords sound full, and dynamics translate perfectly. You’re not fighting your gear—you’re flowing with it.

Adaptive Circuit Modeling
Feels alive under your fingers—responding to pick attack, playing dynamics, and volume changes like a real tube amp, giving you the expressive range to convey every emotion.
Bias-Point Shifting
Creates that sweet spot where notes bloom and sustain naturally. Experience the warmth, sag, and harmonic richness that makes vintage amps so inspiring to play.
Dynamic EQ Response
EQ controls that respond musically like real amps—less clinical, more inspirational. Cut through a mix perfectly with tone controls that interact naturally with your playing.
Harmonic Fingerprinting
Each amp model has a unique harmonic signature derived from its physical counterpart, preserving the subtle tonal qualities that define classic tone.
Transient Accuracy
Captures the micro-details of attack and decay that define an amp's feel, from the immediate response of a Blackface clean to the compressed attack of a high-gain British head.
Power Amp Saturation
Accurately simulates how power tubes compress and distort when pushed, creating the rich, three-dimensional saturation that's missing from simpler modeling approaches.
Hear BIAS X in action.
Experience the dynamic response and harmonic complexity that make our models feel like real tube amplifiers.
Effects
AI-ENHANCED PRECISION
Our 63 effects utilize component-level circuit modeling to deliver the organic, responsive behavior that makes vintage analog gear special. Advanced circuit analysis accurately models how components interact, creating effects that respond dynamically to your playing.
You'll hear it.
Each effect undergoes a rigorous 20-step calibration process overseen by professional producers. You'll hear and feel the difference immediately—tape echoes that saturate naturally with authentic frequency degradation, compressors that model the behavior of optical, FET, and VCA circuits, and overdrives with the precise harmonic complexity of rare boutique pedals.

Dynamic Distortion
Overdrive pedals that clean up when you roll back your volume and saturate beautifully when pushed.
Modeled Component Interaction
Get the magic of vintage pedals where components interact to create sounds that range from subtle warmth to creative chaos.
Adaptive EQ Curves
Tone controls that feel musical and intuitive—turning knobs results in useful sounds throughout their range, not just at specific sweet spots.
Analog Noise Modeling
Subtle, musical noise characteristics are preserved where appropriate, while unwanted noise can be easily eliminated.
Temporal Response
Time-based effects like delays and reverbs capture the character of analog and vintage digital units—from clear transients to smooth, natural decay.
Input/Output Saturation
Effects simulate the subtle compression and harmonic enhancement that occurs at input and output stages of classic gear.

FAQS
General
What is BIAS X?
How does it work?
BIAS X combines a professional-grade sound engine with Agentic AI, enabling two core workflows:
- Text-to-Tone: Describe the tone you want, and the AI builds it automatically.
- Music-to-Tone: Upload a clip of a guitar tone, and BIAS X recreates it instantly.
You can refine your tone using AI suggestions or full manual control—moving gear anywhere in the signal chain, tweaking amp stages, or customizing effects.
What is BIAS X and how is it different from BIAS FX 2?
BIAS X is Positive Grid’s next-generation guitar multi-effects software, designed from the ground up to deliver better tone, smarter workflow, and a more modern experience. Compared to BIAS FX 2, it features:
- A completely new tone engine with AI-powered amp and effect modeling
- All-New Cabinet Simulation: Developed by Positive Grid engineers and in partnership with Spectre Digital, featuring high-fidelity IRs of legendary cabs and mics.
- A redesigned immersive UI, optimized for speed and creative flow
- Built-in Agentic AI that helps you build, match, and refine tones in seconds
BIAS FX 2 was built around traditional tone modeling with static signal chains. BIAS X introduces dynamic AI-powered tone construction, a broader range of gear in one package, and intelligent features that reduce the time between inspiration and output.

What is Agentic AI in BIAS X?
Agentic AI is your personal tone assistant built directly into BIAS X. It speeds up the workflow for pros and opens creative doors for everyone.
Agentic AI supports two major features:
- Conversational AI
Describe what you want—“Give me a fuzzed-out surf lead” or “Make this rhythm tone tighter”—and the AI builds or tweaks a preset in real time, selecting gear and adjusting parameters automatically. It can also give you feedback about your tone and tweak it with recommendations. - Audio to Preset
Drop in a guitar track or full song, and the AI analyzes the tone and reconstructs a matching preset. This is ideal for producers or players wanting to replicate recorded tones fast.
How much gear is included with BIAS X?
BIAS X includes 33 amp models, 25 cabs, and 63 effects. The gear spans classic, boutique, and modern sounds across multiple genres, giving users a versatile all-in-one solution.
Does it support dual-amp setups or advanced routing?
Yes. BIAS X supports dual-amp configurations, stereo rigs, and parallel processing chains—perfect for custom and complex tone builds.
Can I use third-party IRs?
Yes. You can load your own impulse responses to further shape your cabinet sound.
Does BIAS X support MIDI?
No, BIAS X does not support MIDI at the moment
Is ToneCloud still available in BIAS X?
ToneCloud is not part of BIAS X.
Can I transfer presets from BIAS FX 2 to BIAS X?
Presets from BIAS FX 2 are not directly transferable into BIAS X due to the new engine architecture and feature set.
However, you can still use both side by side. If you have a preset in BIAS FX 2 you love, export a short audio clip of it and upload it to Audio to Preset in BIAS X—letting the AI rebuild that tone instantly using the new engine. This approach offers higher fidelity than preset import and better utilizes the new AI engine.
Can I use my BIAS FX 2 expansion packs (e.g., Hendrix pack) in BIAS X?
Currently, BIAS X does not support expansion packs from BIAS FX 2, including the Hendrix pack. BIAS X introduces a redesigned sound engine and gear ecosystem, which may not be compatible with legacy content from FX2. Please stay tuned for future updates regarding compatibility.
Which plugin formats are supported?
- macOS: Audio Units (AU), VST3, AAX
- Windows: VST3, AAX
- Note: BIAS X does not support VST2.
Is it Apple Silicon native?
Yes. BIAS X runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1, M2).
Which DAWs are compatible?
See COMPATIBLE DAWs in the Spec section.
Does BIAS X work in standalone mode?
Yes, you can run BIAS X without a DAW—perfect for practice, live use, or building tones quickly.
Can I use it with bass or acoustic guitars?
Yes. BIAS X is optimized for electric guitar but works well with bass and acoustic instruments too, thanks to its flexible gear and tone shaping options.
Do I need to know a lot about gear to use BIAS X?
No—but if you do, you’ll love what’s under the hood. BIAS X is built for flexibility at every level: you can get great tones fast using AI tools, or take full manual control to fine-tune every detail. Move gear freely anywhere in the signal chain, shape amp behavior stage-by-stage, and design complex dual-amp or stereo setups. Whether you’re moving fast or going deep, BIAS X supports your workflow.
What’s new about the user interface?
- Modern, clean design with top/side/bottom bars for faster navigation
- More screen space for tone editing and signal flow clarity
- New Gear Menu for quick drag-and-drop tone building
