You can refine your tone using AI suggestions or full manual control—moving gear anywhere in the signal chain, tweaking amp stages, or customizing effects.

AI supports two major features:

• Conversational AI
  Describe what you want—“Give me a fuzzed-out surf lead” or “Make this rhythm tone tighter”—and the AI builds or tweaks a preset in real time, selecting gear and adjusting parameters automatically. It can also give you feedback about your tone and tweak it with recommendations.
• Music-to-Tone
  Drop in a guitar track or full song, and the AI analyzes the tone and reconstructs a matching preset. This is ideal for producers or players wanting to replicate recorded tones fast.

Yes. BIAS X supports dual-amp configurations, stereo rigs, and parallel processing chains—perfect for custom and complex tone builds.

Yes. You can load your own impulse responses to further shape your cabinet sound.

Yes. MIDI support was introduced in BIAS X starting with version 1.2. This allows you to assign knobs, switches, and other parameters to external MIDI controllers or footswitches. If you’re using an earlier version, you’ll need to update to access this feature. Logic Pro and GarageBand users should review our update guidance before installing to ensure a smooth transition from previous sessions.

ToneCloud is not part of BIAS X.

Currently, BIAS X does not support expansion packs from BIAS FX 2, including the Hendrix pack. BIAS X introduces a redesigned sound engine and gear ecosystem, which may not be compatible with legacy content from FX2. Please stay tuned for future updates regarding compatibility.

Yes—for first-time activation and to use AI features like Text-to-Tone and Music-to-Tone. Once activated, BIAS X can run offline for regular use.
