Everything New in the BIAS FX 2 Update

In the world of guitar tone simulation software, Positive Grid’s award-winning BIAS FX 2 guitar software and plug-ins has been a mainstay in the industry, giving guitarists and sound engineers access to a huge arsenal of amps, effects, cabinets and more to shape their tone. It’s also no surprise that the tone engine that drives BIAS FX 2 also powers Positive Grid’s mega popular line of Spark smart guitar amps.

With the release of the latest update, a host of exciting new features and improvements have been added to BIAS FX 2. From a re-engineered DSP engine to new cabs and performance enhancements, this update should further inspire guitarists around the world to take their tone to new heights – and the best part? It’s completely free for existing BIAS FX 2 users. Let’s take a dive into what’s new in the BIAS FX 2 update.

Re-Engineered Amps

The cornerstone of BIAS FX 2’s appeal lies in its vast collection of guitar amps – from vintage classics to boutique and custom amps. The team at Positive Grid has taken 10 of the most popular amps and remastered them with a new, dynamically detailed DSP engine. These RMST series amps feature point-to-point price measurement and dynamic tube distortion emulation, resulting in a more accurate representation of their real-life counterparts. But don’t worry, the classic versions of these amps are still available for use if you find yourself accustomed to their original sound.

Revamped Cabs

The BIAS FX 2 update introduces Cabs 3.0. This update includes 10 brand-new custom cabinet impulse responses (IRs) designed specifically to complement the new RMST amps. Positive Grid’s Fusion IR technology mixes the top IRs, resulting in a more dynamic and responsive sound. Pair that with a more streamlined and user-friendly interface, getting the perfect tone out of your amp has never been easier.

Guitar Match II

One of the unsung heroes of BIAS FX 2 is its Guitar Match feature, a seriously fun and powerful tool that transforms your guitar into any legendary guitar. Need that signature Telecaster twang in your recording but only have a Les Paul at your disposal? Try running it through Guitar Match and you’ll be able to get that vintage Tele sound.

With Guitar Match II, the process of turning your guitar into that legendary ax is now even easier. On top of overall improvements to the tone matching technology, Guitar Match II features a new Quick Mode that allows you to instantly transform your guitar into another one faster than ever before. Are you an acoustic or bass player? Guitar Match II now features advanced acoustic and bass models that were previously unavailable.

Enhanced Performance

A lot of the improvements in the latest BIAS FX 2 update can be found under the hood. Enhanced stability and optimized memory and CPU requirements allows you to focus on what matters most – crafting the absolute best tone for your guitar without any slowdowns. The drag and drop interface has also received a boost, making it easier than ever to build your dream sound.

Updated UI

The new user interface introduced in this BIAS FX 2 update is not only super slick, but also enhances functionality, making it easier than ever to navigate the software with intuitive controls and improved visibility options.

Introducing Rewind

Ever had a brilliant riff or melody pop into your head, only to have it slip away before you could hit the record button? Say goodbye to missed moments of inspiration with the all-new Rewind feature introduced in the BIAS FX 2 update. This game-changing addition automatically records up to 10 minutes of your playing, ensuring that no musical idea goes to waste. Simply go back in time, grab that perfect riff, trim it to perfection, and export it to build upon your musical ideas later. It's like having a personal musical time machine at your disposal, preserving those fleeting moments of genius for future creativity.

Introducing Cloud Bank

Imagine having access to your custom presets across all your devices, seamlessly transferring your custom tones from home to the studio, from your friend’s house to live gigs. The BIAS FX 2 update makes it a reality with the introduction of Cloud Bank. This feature allows you to easily backup, sync, and access your custom presets through your own personal cloud. Whether you're on your desktop or iOS device, your tones are always within reach. No more worries about losing your meticulously crafted sounds or having to painstakingly recreate them on someone else’s rig.

Revamped ToneCloud

ToneCloud has been revamped in the newest version of BIAS FX 2 and now hosts over 50,000 custom tones ready for you to explore. Whether you’re seeking a specific sound or in need of inspiration, finding the tone you seek is now easier than ever with ToneCloud’s revamped interface. Want to share your tone with a friend? Use the new Tonelink feature to create and send a link to your preset.

And the best part is that this update is just the beginning! Positive Grid has much more in store, so get ready for future updates that will continue to inspire you to play more guitar. Stay tuned for even more amazing features to come!
